General Recruitment Questions
Should your application be successful, our Talent Team will contact you to arrange a telephone interview to allow us to get to know one another better.
You will then move through to a formal interview process which will vary depending on the role. Your contact from the Talent Team will be able to give you more information on this when you first speak with them.
We want to hire excellent people so your enthusiasm is great.
Do your homework, find out more about our values and culture as these are really important to us.
Showcase your knowledge in the area you want to work in. Demonstrate your ambition and aspiration by highlighting successes and development.
Tell us about yourself personally, what achievements have you made in your personal life, what do you enjoy doing outside of work. We are not just looking for technically good people but those who can socially contribute to our working environment to make it an even more fun place to be.
At Novo Altum, we have no barriers to promotion. You can progress as quickly as you are capable. We want our people to strive to achieve their biggest ambitions, develop new skills and take on new opportunities. We provide support and coaching to help you get to where you want to go.
We are always looking for the best talent. If you are legally eligible to work in the country, then please apply. If you will need a work permit or sponsorship, please state this on your application.
Advisory
The first thing that we look for is whether a candidate is able to demonstrate a real understanding and commitment to living our
corporate values.
On a more practical level, our advisors tend to have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the finance function and/or consulting arena. They must have the “technical” know-how and “scars on the back” grey-haired experience to understand and address complex finance and risk issues.
We prefer that our advisors are practitioners capable of demonstrating mastery and competency in more than one area of finance or risk; as a specialist firm, they will work across many disciplines. They must have “advisory” expertise to drive through change, project manage and manage senior stakeholders.
We would like to see more candidates that are willing to invest their skills and expertise to contribute to our growing a firm. It is more an attitude of energy, aspiration and entrepreneurial spirit.
Not at all. We tend to only recruit experienced candidates and therefore your experience post university is much more important to us. We are, however, very happy to take individuals who are completing an MBA programme, ideally from one of the top 10 U.K. business schools.
Graduate Programme
University students in their final year, or students who have recently completed their degree.
Novo Altum’s Graduate Programme runs between 12-24 months. What’s unique about our programme is that it is completely bespoke – if you decide on a career path halfway through the programme, you can ‘exit’ earlier and start working in your chosen field.
The idea behind our graduate programme is to help you to find a permanent position at our company. We do expect that at the end of the scheme you will be able to carry on with our team in a permanent, more specialist role. This of course depends career goals and performance.
We do not have a set start date. You will commence our graduate programme following the completion of your final year of university. Due to the large number of applications we receive, it is best you apply as soon as possible to secure your position.
This depends entirely on you. We will give you advice and guidance on how to get to where you want to be after having completed your rotations, however one graduates career track could be completely different from another.
Yes, we do pay our Graduates. We consider them a valuable part of our team.
We currently only offer positions at our Isle of Man Headquarters, however this could change in the future.

You will receive valuable training from all areas of the business. Depending on your career path goals you may also receive external training to help boost your skills where and if needed.
Our corporate office team work from 8.30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break.

graduates page of our website.
Be sure to attach the documents requested, and don’t forget to include your personal details, work experience, special awards and any additional achievements we should know about.
Not at all, our programme is designed so that you learn as you go. Prior experience and an understanding of business and finance would be helpful however it is not essential.
Prior work experience would work in your favour, but isn’t necessary. Your personality and your potential are much more important to us.
We want talented individuals who are enthusiastic, driven and reliable. It’s not all about marks – show us your achievements both in and out of University.
Internships
University students, and students who have finished their A-Levels and are looking for additional experience.
Our programme is very flexible. Start times depend on the team your will be working with, business needs, and your availability. We take interns during the summer vacation period, as well as other busy periods throughout the year.
